Jeffrey,
I’m running into an issue with a Windsock in one of my sceneries. In the scenery I am currently working on, all variants of my windsock fail to load. Viewing the SODE.log I can see the following entry: Active SimObjects: 7; Active Wind Data Probes: 1. This tells me that all of the items are being recognized by SODE, however only the objects other than the windsock display in the log and sim.To do a little debugging, I visited another one of my airports using the same windsock model. It loads and displays just fine with the only difference being that it’s a different texture variation. I went back to my current project and swapped the windsock for the exact simtitle used at the working airport. It still doesn’t display.
The only thing I could think of at this point is that it’s something to do with the XML file, so I ran a comparison between the working and non working windsock entries and everything matched besides <SimObject Name=”namehere”> and the coordinates.
I am at a loss here as I have no idea what else it could be. It can’t be the windsock models as they all display fine at the other airport. It also cant be that exact texture, because even the working texture at the other airport doesn’t work at the project airport. The problem can be reproduced in both P3Dv3.4 and v4.2, so it doesn’t appear to be a sim-specific issue either.
I have zipped and attached both the working and non working XML files, the log and the windsock sim.cfg file.
Thanks for your time.

Finally found some time to check out your files.
There’s seems to be a problem when doing “Reload All” in conjunction with EDPs and multiple clients. Still haven’t figured out why exactly, need some more testing and debugging.
But most likely it is a bug within SODE.Can’t explain why it would work with the other scenery, but if you’d try “Reload All” there, I suspect the Windsock will disappear there, too.
I’ll keep you posted, but I will only find some coding time in two weeks…I’m pretty busy at work

I went ahead and tested your theory. I did “Reload All” 3x on the working windsock and it reloaded successfully every time, so I think we can mark that off the list. I have plenty of projects to work on so I’ll just move this update to the backburner until you have the time to dig into the code.Thanks.

I think I’ve found the bug within SODE.
Try the latest beta following the links in the fsdeveloper thread:

That seemed to do the trick. Everything is working correctly now.-Chris
