VDGS doesn’t always activate when stand is selected

Using sode 1.7.1 with vdgs pack. SODE allows a gate to be selected when aircraft is in range(less than 20nm). Normally vdgs is activated when the gate is selected, however it appears that if the gate is selected and the aircraft position is approaching the gate from a direction that is greater than 180degrees from the sode gate’s heading, vdgs will not activate. Example klax gate 75A. The gate faces east(070), however the sode vdgs faces 250(180 degrees opposite so it can be seen when heading into gate) however if aircraft is approaching from the east(heading 250) vdgs does not activate. If arrival is from the west(hdg 070) vdgs will activate. Appears there is a 180 deg semi-circle that is used to determine when vdgs can be activated?
