SODE causes P3D v3.4 to load flight automatically from Scenario screen

I’m running P3D v3.4 on Windows 10. I have installed SODE v1.4.1. After installing SODE, I’m suddenly encountering a situation where when P3D reaches the Scenario screen, which displays the default flight that comes with P3D, it immediately starts loading the default flight, preventing me from changing the plane, airport, etc. The loading window with its bar graph displays in front of the Scenario screen. When the loading of the flight is completed, P3D either freezes on the Scenario screen or crashes to the Desktop. I never get to the airport.

This problem first arose when I installed GSX the other day and it installed SODE v1.3.4. I uninstalled this version and installed the latest v1.4.1, but this didn’t eliminate the problem. If I uninstall SODE the problem is gone.

Any thoughts on why SODE might be causing this strange behavior?
