    Hi Jeff,

I run FSX with GSX and I had SODE 1.6.4 installed

I couldn’t hear the jetway sound so I cheched the .ini files and no sound/engine was disabled.

I thought of upgrading to SODE 1.6.6 and after that:

    – I still can’t hear the jetway sound …

    – the customized parkings I set in GSX no longer work … I read of “panic” and “geometry collision” …

    HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. is there a way to edit the text (.ini) files that set those customizations to keep them and also make the new SODE version happy ?

    Hi,

Panic, geometry collision are definitely not messages from SODE, so I guess it’s from GSX.

I will check the issue with the sound though…

The settings ini file should retain all settings when upgrading SODE.

    Super thanks.

Byte the way, have you ever thought of animated (opening and closing) jetway doors ? It’s quite amazing to watch GSX passengers go through closed doors … LOL

    Hi Jeff,

as I confirm that after reinstalling GSX all my jetways work, but still no sound.

    Attached is the sode.log

    Thanks for your attention

    Thanks.

Found a bug in the code, which prevented the sound engine to update its 3D position in the world. It was caused by the fact that no SODE SimObjects are detected in the xmls and only GSX jetways present (which is perfectly ok).

    Fixed in the next version.

Jetway doors: Well this is one for the developers/modellers, nothing to do for me since it is technically possible using SODE. I think fsdreamteam does it cleverly in their airports: When jetway is not selected by the user, it shows the STATIC jetway with a closed door. As soon as the user selects the gate, it switches to the DYNAMIC model with an open door. Clever.

I don’t know however if they use this static/dynamic model switching for GSX L2.
