    Hi Jeffrey

Congrats for the fantastic job here !

I have a question for you about how aircraft type is read from aircraft.cfg file and then passed on to the system.

I understand from documents here that aircraft type is read from atc model in the General section of the aircraft.cfg file. You also need to have an entry in the SODE ini file AircraftParameters.ini. So far so good.

My question is: what happens next ? To be more precise, I would like to know how this affects the VGDS system. As a matter of comparison, GSX creates a L variable with the aircraft type, which is then used to set a visibility condition to a model part through the modeldef.xml for the mdl file.

It does not seem to be the same here.

How do you transfer the information so that the aircraft type is displayed on the VGDS ?

    Thanks

    Have a nice day!

    Hi,

I need to change the way how aircraft are detected for the VDGS, so that it only needs the aircraft.cfg data. The AircraftParameters.ini is redundant and not needed in hindsight.

Anyway, internally, a certain multiplexed variable (not L:Var) will be used and will be de-multiplexed and handled as a visibility condition defined in the modeldef.xml.

It is similar to what GSX does, but just not using the L:Var system, but “hijacking” existing sim variables and squeezing every single bit out of them.
