I’ve installed SODE 1.6.4 and registered it successfully with P3D V4.5. Everything about the installation seems just fine, except the SODE menu does not show up in the sim. I’ve tried just about everything that I can think of to get SODE to work, but no luck.

    Any ideas?

    Can I join you Dave

Have the same issue.  Actually SODE was working before, but installed GSX Level2 and now something has happened. No SODE is in the addon menu anymore. it was before.

    Perusing the troubleshooting guides,

The platform manager has both greens, and ive unregistered to reregister.

Simconnect also says ok. In one of the posts is a debug console for simconnect.ini which I have done. No errors that I can see.

P3D is properly showing the correct path in the registry.

The SODE.log looks to go thru the whole procedure with no errors

Watching task manager, SODE actually loads then suddenly disappears.  So something forces it to close yet there is no errors in the logs.

The only thing I notice is that the exe and dll files in programdata and in roaming do not contain any SODE info yet how is it being run automatically?

Hope I am not hijacking thread.  But its the same issue.

Did you find any solutions?  Still cant find any clues.

The weirdest thing is that I see SODE running in task mgr, then it closes, yet there is nothing in its log that states why its shutting down.

Another one here with the same problem, but no answer from the developer

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply.

Could you post your simconnect.log files? That’s the only debug output that indicates a proper launch of SODE’s exe and dll parts. If there’s a failure there, then even the SODE.log is not meaningful since SODE wasn’t launched in the first place…

    Thanks.

Another thing that comes to my mind might be issues with your anti-virus software blocking SimObjectDisplayManager.exe from running?

Ok.  Ive attached simconnect and the Sode logs.  From what I can see, sode does load up both exe and dll successfully but disappears after seemingly with no error.  There was no reply here for a while, so kept trying all kinds of things but still nothing has been successful. Including uninstalling both sode, and gsx, cleaning the registry of them and rebooting to reinstall. still no go.

    Thanks for taking  a look

    Thanks Dave for the files.

It seems that SODE crashes during the parsing of the aircraft.cfg files in this folder: F:\Flight Simulator Files\AI\

Would it be possible to disable that add-on and see if SODE loads properly without it?

We can then further troubleshoot this issue. I guess there’s a syntax error or unexpected character/format in one of the aircraft.cfg of your AI traffic.

Thanks for reply.  That directory is not an addon per se.  Its where all the AI models sit from AIG OCI.  Its using the default traffic engine, but with customized schedules and routes.  Its always worked before with SODE.   So I went into simobjects.cfg and disabled the path to those aircraft, restarted P3D and still no SODE. However looking at the sode log at the end, its still trying to check that path.  Not sure where its getting it from if i disabled that path in simobjects.

An edit to my above post.  I guess AIG OCI acts like an addon  and has an addon-xml which i temporarily deleted and therefore running p3d there was no traffic, yet still no SODE. Log says exactly the same thing.

I started this thread but I’ve been remiss is not keeping up with it. I’ve attached my most recent SODE.log file. Hope this helps, this problem is driving me nuts! I have no SODE jetways at ORBX airports or Flightbeam airports. Oh, just an update – I can see the SODE menu in the P3D Add-ons menu but all it contains is testing the option to Test DLL Connection!

    Hi Dave,

Dave here! Have you had any luck getting this to work? I wouldn’t care so much about SODE except that it’s key to some of the addon airports I use.

@davemke: Thanks for the log. Seems that SODE is running fine basically. It just can’t find any data to work with, i.e. xml files that contain the jetway placements etc…

    [17:08:23.796] DEBUG SODE.XML : Finding SDX CFG Files…

    [17:08:23.796] INFO SODE.XML : Empty directory at \cfg\. [C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\cfg\*.sdx]

[17:08:23.796] DEBUG  : Trying to build SimObject List out of Custom Config files…

[17:08:23.796] INFO SODE.XML : No SDX Files found! Lists are empty.

[17:08:23.796] DEBUG  : Trying to find XML Definition files…

    [17:08:23.796] DEBUG SODE.XML : Finding XML Files…

    [17:08:23.796] INFO SODE.XML : Empty directory at \xml\. [C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml\*.xml]

[17:08:23.797] DEBUG  : Trying to build SimObject List out of XML definition files…

[17:08:23.797] WARN SODE.XML : No XML Files found! Lists are still empty.

[17:08:28.370] WARN SODE.FSLOOP : No SimObjects inside Lists! SODE runs in ‘External Jetway Triggering Mode’ only…

Those xml files usually gets automatically installed by the airport installer or some type of add-on manager where you can activate those optional SODE jetways (like Flightbeam’s Manager tool). The location where those kind of files are installed to is here: C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml

Once the add-on files are in there, SODE has data to work with. Right now, it just runs idle.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Maybe this will provide a clue: In the Flightbeam Manager, there is the option to use SODE Jetways, at least for KSFOHD, KMSP, and KPHX. When I choose to use SODE Jetways, by selecting the “On” button, that setting will not stick, so when I close out the Flightbeam Manager, then go back in, the SODE Jetway “On” option is no longer selected.

Davemke, at least you have it partially working. I have nothing. Zippo. No sode in the menu still, same gsx msg of sode not available.

AI were disabled, but it still shutdown, so at this point I have no idea. Dont feel like doing a complete p3d reinstall either.
