    Hi Jeffrey

I know you are on holiday, but still I want to post this here.

We are trying to animate the jetways in our Budapest LHBP scenery. We have never done this before so we experiment first.

My first goal was to take your 3dsMax example file and use the script, import it to SODE to your example airport. You are using newer 3dsMax so first I had to downgrade to 2014 max file. After that I applied a new material (same texture) with skinned mesh. The script runs without any error message, however the model “explodes” (see attached picture), is it normaL? I can export it with P3Dv4 SDK to an x file without error (Skinned mesh and animation is thicked). When I try to convert the model to MDL I’m getting error messages. I tried to convert it with the old FSX SDK xToMdl.exe and with P3Dv4 too. Both gives the same result. Interestingly I can open the X file with MCX. The XToMdl.exe is launched with /XANIM, /NOCRASH and the respective modeldef.xml preference (with a bat file).

    Please see the attached picture:

Any suggestion what could went wrong?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

In the meanwhile I’ve updated to 3ds Max 2015 to match exactly your sample files, because it turned out there were some problems during conversion.

Still I could not process the X file with XtoMDL.exe but with ModelconverterX I could do it.

Unfortunately as soon as I run the script the model gets messed up. I could import it to FSX but the jetway is not moving, only the attached effect “diamond”.

I have recorded a video about my process:

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks!

I found my mistake, as Hood I selected the default one not the NG one which was basically used in the file. So it is solved now.

Glad you were able to solve this and sorry for the late reply.
